SBR1502

SBR1502

  • SBR 1502 is an oil-free, cold polymerized Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (E-SBR) produced in granular form by Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company (Iran). This general-purpose synthetic rubber is formulated for excellent abrasion resistance, aging stability, and processability, making it one of the most widely used grades in the tire, footwear, and industrial rubber industries.

With its controlled styrene content and uniform molecular structure, SBR 1502 exhibits balanced mechanical properties, good tensile strength, and high elasticity. The material offers superior surface smoothness and easy blending capability with natural rubber and other elastomers, providing flexibility for a wide range of compounding requirements.

SBR 1502 performs exceptionally well in applications requiring low rolling resistance, wear resistance, and consistent extrusion or molding behavior, while maintaining good resilience and dimensional stability over time.

  • SBR 1502 is a cold-emulsion Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (E-SBR) containing 23.5% styrene, produced using a mixed-acid emulsifier system, non-staining stabilizer, and salt–acid coagulation process. Manufactured by Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company (Iran), this grade is known for its excellent balance of mechanical and aging properties, making it one of the most versatile synthetic rubbers in industrial use.

When properly formulated and vulcanized, SBR 1502 compounds exhibit:

    • Outstanding abrasion resistance

    • Good heat and oxidative aging stability

    • Excellent mechanical strength and elasticity

    • Reliable electrical insulation properties

    • Resistance to polar solvents and dilute acids

The polymer’s controlled styrene ratio provides good resilience, process stability, and consistent viscosity, ensuring easy compounding and compatibility with natural rubber and reinforcing fillers.

SBR 1502 is widely used for tire treads, rubber footwear, belts, hoses, and molded industrial products where durability, resilience, and surface quality are essential.

    Key Features

    • 23.5% styrene cold SBR polymer

    • Excellent abrasion and wear resistance

    • Good thermal and oxidative aging performance

    • Stable mechanical and electrical properties

    • Resistant to polar solvents and dilute acids

    • Non-staining formulation for cleaner processing

Good Heat Resistance:
SBR 1502 maintains its mechanical integrity and elasticity under elevated temperatures, offering excellent resistance to thermal aging. This makes it ideal for products exposed to continuous heat cycles, such as automotive tires, belts, and industrial rubber goods.

Good Electrical Resistance:
This grade provides strong electrical insulation properties, making it suitable for rubber components and industrial parts that require stable dielectric behavior under varying temperature and humidity conditions.

Good Abrasion Resistance:
SBR 1502 exhibits superior wear resistance, delivering long-lasting performance in tire treads, shoe soles, and mechanical rubber products that demand durability and surface resilience under repeated friction or load.

Cold Emulsion Polymerization:
Produced through a cold-emulsion polymerization process, SBR 1502 offers uniform polymer structure, improved strength, and enhanced processability. This results in consistent compounding behavior, excellent dispersion of fillers, and stable mechanical properties in the final vulcanized products.
