Light Naphtha

  • Light Naphtha is a liquid hydrocarbon obtained from the distillation of crude oil and belongs to the hydrocarbon group of petrochemical feedstocks. This versatile product is widely used as a primary raw material in the production of petrochemicals, gasoline components, and industrial solvents.

It features a boiling range typically between 30°C and 240°C, making it suitable for processes that require lighter hydrocarbon fractions with excellent volatility. With a free flash point, Light Naphtha is classified as a flammable liquid and should be handled under controlled safety conditions.

    Form: Liquid Hydrocarbon
    Boiling Range: 30°C – 240°C (typical)
    Flash Point: Free
Packaging: Supplied in bulk form for large-scale industrial and export applications.

  • Light Naphtha is a volatile, low-boiling petroleum fraction primarily utilized as a petrochemical feedstock and industrial solvent. Known for its high paraffinic and naphthenic composition, this material plays a vital role in steam cracking processes for the production of ethylene and propylene — two of the most essential building blocks in the petrochemical industry.

With a boiling range between 30°C and 90°C, Light Naphtha offers clean-burning properties and low sulfur content, making it a preferred choice for gasoline blending, industrial fuel production, and other energy-efficient applications.

Thanks to its chemical stability and rapid evaporation rate, Light Naphtha is also widely used in formulations for coatings, adhesives, degreasers, and cleaning agents.

Araz Petro supplies Light Naphtha that fully complies with international quality standards, offering customized grades such as Straight Run Naphtha (SRN) and Hydrotreated Naphtha (HTN) to meet specific refining and processing requirements.

High Volatility and Low Boiling Point:
Exhibits rapid evaporation and superior volatility, making it ideal for high-efficiency combustion systems, cleaning applications, and formulation processes where quick drying and vaporization are critical.

Paraffinic and Naphthenic Composition:
Rich in paraffinic and naphthenic hydrocarbons, Light Naphtha ensures high olefin yields during steam cracking operations, optimizing ethylene and propylene production efficiency.

Customizable Grades:
Supplied in Straight Run (SRN) and Hydrotreated (HTN) variants, each tailored to meet the demands of specific downstream petrochemical and refining applications.

Low Sulfur and Aromatic Content (Hydrotreated Grade):
The hydrotreated form of Light Naphtha offers reduced sulfur and aromatic compounds, enabling environmentally compliant fuel blending and lower emission performance in industrial and automotive use.

Versatile Solvent Characteristics:
Due to its balanced volatility and stability, Light Naphtha is a preferred solvent base in industrial degreasers, coatings, chemical synthesis, and adhesive manufacturing.

Petrochemical Feedstock:
Light Naphtha serves as a primary raw material in steam cracking units, where it is converted into essential olefins such as ethylene and propylene, which are foundational building blocks for numerous petrochemical and polymer industries.

Gasoline Blending:
Utilized as a high-value blending component in motor gasoline formulations, Light Naphtha improves octane levels, enhances combustion efficiency, and supports cleaner-burning fuel performance.

Industrial Solvent:
Due to its fast-drying and high-volatility characteristics, Light Naphtha is commonly used in the production of paint thinners, adhesives, degreasers, and industrial cleaning fluids.

Plastic and Resin Production:
Acts as a feedstock for plastic and resin synthesis, enabling the manufacture of diverse polymer materials across automotive, packaging, and chemical industries.

Aerosol Propellants and Coatings:
Appreciated for its excellent solvency and vapor pressure, Light Naphtha is employed in aerosol formulations and protective coatings, ensuring smooth application and rapid evaporation.

The transportation of Light Naphtha must fully adhere to international maritime and land transport regulations governing flammable liquids (UN 1268). All tankers, ISO tanks, and transport containers should be properly certified, sealed, and labeled to prevent vapor loss, leakage, or contamination during shipment.

Storage facilities must ensure cool, well-ventilated environments away from open flames, heat sources, and direct sunlight, maintaining the product’s stability and safety standards throughout handling and distribution.

Araz Petro’s logistics division provides customized transport solutions, including FOB, CIF, and bulk shipment options, supported by complete documentation and regulatory compliance.
